We Lost! *tear* ACK vs. AUK football game for girls yesterday.. and we lost 4-0. I was put on as right striker as usual.. and I tried so damn hard.. apart from causing a foul for not passing the ball once when we were off side.. what an idiot.. I have to say I really am a good player.. I just have a little problem with the rules lol.. Thing is, our team is just as good as theirs, maybe better, we just aren’t sure of where to stand, they do. We keep forgetting to go back on defence and then when we’re on attack we’re all too slow to realise. So basically it was our strategy. Plus, they’ve been training since before January, and we just got this semesters team organised a few weeks ago. So I’m sure with a bit more training we can kick ass. Was quite an aggressive game I must admit. I got pushed over twice and slammed into the ground, had a ball vigorously kicked to my back, and got a girl fouled for grabbing my arm. But we were equally as aggressive towards them.. I must admit I really was on fire. Being put on for most of the first half, then again for the last 10 minutes of the game. Anyways, I think we might have a game against KU on Monday (was meant to be last Monday but got cancelled cuz of the rain). So I really hope we can make up for it.. Go ACK WOOOOOTTT!
Learn the rules, then break them. March 26, 2007
This is just an example of my beautiful luck:
From the very first day in workshop at college, we have been working on this once piece of metal, whos sides we have to file down perfectly with 3 different files, sand them down, and make them look pretty. On the third week, I was looking to finish off my filing and sanding, carefully holding my piece up with the square to check how straight it is, then, surprisingly, I realised that every single side was all lopsided and very un-square like.. angrily realising I’ve been filing down all the sides randomly and messed everything up. So I stay an extra class the next week to get it fixed.
Then this saturday workshop class, we start drilling our pieces. I carefully measure the distances between each of the 3 holes, and use a hammer to mark down the drilling point. The instructor showed us 2 drill presses with the 5mm diameter which we should use, to later put in the 6mm tap in. Everyone gathered around the first drill press, so I went to the other one to get my work finished faster. So I go right ahead and drill away, right in the right places, perfectly vertical. With my beautiful luck, turns out the drill I used was 6mm.. and that the idiot teacher put the wrong one in it. He even joked about me having to redo my entire piece! Not funny. So then I got the chance to make my piece of metal superiorly unique, and had to drill another 3 holes underneath the first 3, with the 5mm drill.
That being over, I soon went ahead with using the 6mm tap to create the spirals inside the 5mm holes. There’s only 2 6mm taps in the whole workshop, and because I’m me and everything I do is ridiculously wrong, I broke the one I was using. How? I dunno. I was happily twisting and turning (come to think of it I think I was being a bit rough.. oopsie heheh), then SNAP! “Oh My God I broke it!”, I whined to the teacher. So with half the tap stuck inside my piece of metal, he takes it away to get it fixed, and tells me to start making a screw. So i do. I get a 6mm wide piece of metal, measure 6cm of it, saw it off, and start twisting the thing (don’t know what it’s called) and watched in awe as the spirals came to view (prettyyyy…). Anyways, when I reached 3cm down I stopped, and as the instructor was twisting it into one of the holes.. it.. yep.. snapped. All I could say was “Um.. can I like.. Die now?”.. so off he goes again to try getting yet another bit out of my poor massacred materpiece. Finally I managed to pull myself together, make another screw, and comfortably fit it into the 5mm hole.
However, I’m already dreading next saturday..

Another one of my long-lost poems from back in the day:
Final Breath
They say that it’s not over ’til you take that final breath,
To be willing and desiring to step that very step.
To be yearning and deserving for your life to pour away,
Have the angels bringing images from day one to this day.
So your warmth and feeling fade as life seeps from your wrists,
And the jagged daggers edge is hanging limply from your fist.
So you inhale from the lips so icy cold and feeling numb,
And your heart’s desperately beating losing rhythm with the drum.
And a childhood memory flickers in your lost and empty mind,
Reminding you of images that you have left behind.
So the final breath is halted as the images rush fast,
Bringing memories from days that you believed were in your past.
And all this time you hear the shouts that echo off the walls,
The nurses call for oxygen across the open halls.
The beating of your heart slows to a half a beat a breath,
Hands searching for a jolt to sweep across your tired chest.
But the beat has lost its way and now the breath has been exhaled,
As secrets from your former life are willingly unveiled.
Your head feels lighter now you see a shimmer up ahead,
You forget about the images and reach for the light instead.
So you rise out of mortality and drift into the sky,
And the nurses still believe they should continue to try.
But your chest rises again and the light drifts far from view,
And the gentle Doctors voice brings the life back into you.
So I say that it’s not over ’til you take that final breath,
For I’ve been stolen back to life, Decieved my very death.

“Were I in her place, it seems to me I should wish the earth to open and swallow me up. She looks as if she were thinking of something beyond her punishment – beyond her situation: of something not round nor before her. I have heard of day-dreams – is she in a day-dream now? Her eyes are fixed on the floor, but I am sure they do not see it – her sight seems turned in, gone down into her heart: she is looking at what she can remember, I believe; not at what is really present.” – from “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Bronte – 1874I’m sure we have all been in that situation before. When you stay fixed in one position, thinking of something way beyond what is happening in your surroundings. With your eyes looking in one direction, but not seeing anything. With your ears hearing the sounds around you like a distant echo, but not listening. It is those moments on half-waking that I cherish the most, cuz no-one knows what is going on in my head, except me. Not like anyone can imagine what you are thinking any other time, but the lack of expression on a day-dreaming persons face leaves everyone curious. Plus, it’s kind of funny how your eyes shield everything out, and seconds later you snap back to reality when someone calls out to you or waves a hand in front of your face. But what makes me most curious, is wondering where we are when we day-dream. Physically we are in the real world, but mentally, we’re not. But we’re not in sleep world either. We’re in the in between.. which is where? I have no idea. Put that in your back pocket for the day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Lol it’s my birthday today. So decided to write another annoying post. Have nothing better to do anyways. Had math class from 8 to 10 this morning. Great way to spend my birthday morning. Had a hell of a night last night answering phone calls at exactly 12 am with people saying happy birthday. So woke up a bit late today since I spent half the night chatting. I got a few cards, presents, and a chocolate cupcake (a cake would be funny in college lol) from my friends. They were planning to all go out to lunch to celebrate but I couldn’t make it *sob* so we’re celebrating at the skating rink this Friday. Anyways, I’m 17! Yay! *cute smile*
You’re only young once, then you grow up. But it’s okay to be immature, it’s fun! March 16, 2007
Hey People! I’m back again! Decided to annoy everyone and make sure you all remember that my birthday is in 2 days! Yaaayyy! I’m such a baby.. I’m gonna be 17 :/ bleh.. just one more year to go until I’ll be smashing into you peoples cars on the Gulf hehe.. anyways.. I heard that you can get a motorbike at 17 now.. wow that would be amazing.. I’d still be smashing into stuff though lol no doubt.. anyways. had my 2 hour karate class this morning.. was hard.. used the punching bag to do ushiro ura mawashi giri (no its not alien talk.. it’s Japanese, a type of kick.. lol) and now my legs are killing me.. I practiced with the targets to perfect my side attacks and front punches.. then he made us all walk on beams.. (like the tight rope kinda thing).. and since it was so early in the morning.. I kept falling off.. everyone probably thought I was having some kind of hangover (considering I threw my birthday party last night.. with 7up and coffee lol.. if you weren’t invited.. you suck.).. I had to leave early since I had skating afterwards.. so I got punishment of walking on my hands for the whole length of or training hall.. then walking in a squat position.. then sprints.. so yeah by the time I got to skating I was pretty warmed up! I finally managed to get my jump right.. well kind of right.. I need new skates! The ones sold at the rink are about 40kd so I’m getting them soon inshallah yay!!! AAAAAAAnyways.. they shut down the forums I’ve been telling you guys about! *tear* I’m not sure why but I’m hoping they’ll get it back on soon.. last night was fun.. all my cousins came and we had a great time hanging out.. and dancing like idiots.. hehe.. right now I’m still in my skating gear lying in bed.. like a boob.. thinking of college tomorrow.. I can sleep as late as I want today since i have class at 2pm.. too bad I have workshop.. man.. you know what happened to me?? I sawed, filed down, and smoothed 2 sides of this piece of metal I’m working on and I did it perfectly.. then when I wanted to do the other 2 sides I had to keep checking how straight it is and whatever.. then continue filing.. before realising I was mixing all my sides up and I messed up the sides I did before! IT TOOK LIKE 2 HOURS FOR ME TO REALISE! So i have to get that fixed tomorrow.. bleh..
